NYT Strands today: Searching for the latest Strands solution? Visit here for today’s hints, along with answers for The New York Times Mini Crossword, Wordle, and Connections puzzles!

While Strands doesn’t receive as much attention as its more popular New York Times counterparts like Wordle and Connections, it offers a similar level of challenge and fun. Now that Strands has officially launched out of beta, it’s available in the New York Times Games app, potentially attracting a larger audience. In this article, I dive into the detailed rules of Strands.

For today’s answers to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, head over to TechBlogs NYT puzzle hints page.

How to play NYT Strands

  • Start by focusing on today’s theme and search for words related to that topic. When you find one, drag or click the letters in order, and click the last letter twice to submit your guess. If it’s a theme word, it will highlight in blue and remain there.

  • Any other words you discover act as hint words, helping you uncover theme words. Once you’ve identified three hint words (each at least four letters long), the game will reveal a theme word. If you can’t unscramble it, find three more hint words, and the game will display the theme word’s letters in order.

  • Look for the spangram, a unique theme word that spans the entire puzzle. This word can go across or from top to bottom and represents the overall puzzle theme.

  • By the end of the puzzle, you should have used all the letters on the board, either in a theme word or the spangram. Theme words fill the entire board and do not overlap.

Hint for NYT Strands Today

Today’s Strands theme is: Coming up for air.

If that doesn’t help you, here’s a clue: In the water.

Clue words to unlock in-game hints

Your objective is to uncover hidden words that match the puzzle’s theme. If you’re feeling stuck, try finding any words you can. Each time you discover three words with four or more letters, Strands will reveal one of the theme words. These are the words I used to get those hints, but any words of four or more letters that you find will be helpful.

Answers for NYT Strands Today’s puzzle

These are the answers related to the theme. The objective of the puzzle is to identify them all, including the spangram, which is a theme word that stretches across the entire puzzle. Once you’ve found all of them (I initially thought there were always eight, but the number can vary), every letter on the board will be used. Below are the answers that are not part of the spangram:

ORCA, SEAL, WALRUS, DOLPHIN, MANATEE, NARWHAL
